A. Read in Graphic Design The New Design Basics:

• Point, Line Plane: pages 12- 23
• Color: pages 70-83

Answer these questions on a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. No emails.

1. What are the primary colors? What colors do you mix to each of these primary colors?
2. Name 2 sets of complementary colors.
3. When does a glowing effect occur between two colors?
4. Name 2 tertiary colors.

2. Do a lettering experiment like the ones shown on pages 20-21 .

Here are written instructions of the assignment: Pick a descriptive word like fear, tension or hope and illustrate the word using points and lines or both. You can use physical elements ( for example nails, thumb tacks, string, rubber-bands, syrup) digital illustrations done on the computer, or hand drawn illustrations.

If you use physical elements you must submit the project as a printed photograph on 8.5 x 11 paper. No emails. I want you to see what it looks like printed out.

You will be graded based on creativity and effort.
